General Visitor Parking
During the academic semester, parking on grounds can be limited. University events may impact parking around Grounds. Please note: All kiosks and physical meter-heads are currently offline due to COVID 19. Payments for parking can be made via the ParkMobile app.
The Central Grounds Garage is conveniently located under the University Bookstore at 400 Emmet Street, and is near Newcomb Hall, Memorial Gymnasium, Brown College, and the Clemons Library. Hourly parking may be paid via the ParkMobile app.
Overnight parking is not permitted. Visitors needing overnight parking accommodations may purchase a temporary BLUE permit to park in the lots at John Paul Jones Arena. Please contact the Parking and Transportation Office at email@example.com or by calling 434-924-7231 for more information.
The Culbreth Road Garage, located in the Arts Grounds at 130 Culbreth Road, is available for hourly visitor parking. Hourly parking may be paid with cash, card, or via the ParkMobile app. This garage is an ideal location for guests visiting the School of Architecture, Culbreth Theater, Madison Hall, the Art Museum, and is also a short walk from Central Grounds.
The Emmet Ivy Garage, located at 123 Emmet Street provides easy access to Memorial Gym and Central Grounds. Hourly parking may be paid via the ParkMobile app. This garage is an ideal location for guests visiting the School of Architecture, Culbreth Theater, Madison Hall, the Art Museum, and is also a short walk from Central Grounds.
Temporary Parking Permits
Visitors and guests visiting for several weekdays or longer are encouraged to purchase a Temporary Blue Permit from the Parking and Transportation Office by calling 434-924-7231 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org This permit allows visitors to park in the lots surrounding the John Paul Jones Arena. Temporary Blue permits are available on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis (up to three months).
Meters have a two-hour limit. Parking meters accept payment through ParkMobile. View our guide to using the ParkMobile app or paying by phone.

Multi-space meters (which accept payments made by ParkMobile) are available for visitors of the North Grounds Recreation Center, Observatory Hill Dining Facility, Slaughter Recreation Center, and the Aquatic and Fitness Center (AFC).
ADA Accessible Parking & Paths

ADA parking spaces are first come, first serve. If an ADA space is not available, vehicles with a DMV issued placard or license plate may park in a metered space for up to 4 hours.

Departments wishing to cover the cost of visitors and guests may do so via Promo Codes. Please fill out the parking coupon request form HERE to begin the process. Please note that department guest codes are not meant for employees or students.
