Parking for People with Disabilities
Students with a permanent or temporary disability may submit requests to the Elson Student Health Center for reserved parking permits. These permits allow parking at meters free of charge for up to 4 hours and in designated disability parking spaces.
Academic employees with a permanent or temporary physical disability who hold a UVA parking permit may submit requests to the Department of Parking and Transportation for permits to reserved parking. These permits allow parking at meters free of charge for up to 4 hours and in designated disability parking spaces.
Health System Team Members
A request for close-in parking within the Health System parking areas due to a medical condition and/or disability requires a parking permit for the specific Health System lot. Employees must contact the Health System Parking Office to request the forms required for a permit based on medical need. This permit is issued by the Department of Parking and Transportation once the application has been approved. The cost of the permit is $5 less than the current monthly parking fees. A permit is issued to provide parking in a Health System reserved lot in accordance with a physician's recommendation. If an employee has a DMV issued Disabled Parking Placard, a permit for a reserved lot in the Health System area is also required.
