University Transit Service (UTS)

UTS is a fare-free transit service committed to providing safe, reliable, efficient, and friendly transit service to University of Virginia students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Service Levels

UTS operates at different service levels throughout the year depending on the academic calendar, clinic holidays, university holidays, and event impacts.


UTS Routes

The following information reflects approximate service times and does not reflect current road conditions or special events. For the most up-to-date information, please consult TransLoc or follow us on Twitter @UVAUTS.

UVA Health Commuter Routes

RED - Redline - 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Red Lots at Scott Stadium / Student Activities Building - UVA Health System

Weekday / Exam / Recess / UVA Health Commuter Weekday Service

  • Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM: continuous service

Note: During Weekday, Exam, Recess, and Summer Service, permit holders who park at Scott Stadium and need to return to the Red lots before Redline service resumes at 2:30 PM should use the UTS Orange Line (see below). During UVA Health Commuter Weekday Service, the Blueline will drop off midday Red Lot commuters at Scott Stadium before continuing to the Emmet/Ivy Garage.

NOTE: During Holiday Weekday Service, return trip ONLY provided to Scott Stadium; 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM

BLUE - Blueline - 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Emmet/Ivy Garage - UVA Health System

Weekday / Exam / Recess / UVA Health Commuter Weekday Service

  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM: continuous service

Note: The Blueline will only serve the Emmet/Ivy Garage, not the Blue permit lots located near John Paul Jones Arena.

Health System Employee Shuttle

UVA Health provides a shuttle for team members in the early morning and evening hours when University Transit Service is not available.

Health System Employee Parking

  • If arriving between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, park in the Red Lots at Scott Stadium and catch the Redline or Redline Express at the Student Activities Building (SAB) to ride to/from the Medical Center.
  • If arriving after 7:00 AM, park in the Emmet/Ivy Garage and ride the Blueline to/from the Medical Center.

Green Line

  • 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM: 20 minute service

Silver Line

  • 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM: 30 minute service

Green Loop

  • Weekday: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM: 20 minute service
  • Weekend: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM: 30 minute service

Orange Loop

  • Weekday: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM: 20 minute service

UTS Night Pilot

  • 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM:

Lost and Found

The UTS lost and found is located at 1101 Millmont Street. Any items left on a transit bus will remain there until the end of the day. Please call 434-924-7711 and the dispatcher will help you identify the bus or confirm if your item has been brought in. University Transit Service policy prohibits transit operators from discussing lost items over handheld radios. Items not in the UTS lost and found may have been brought to the lost and found in Newcomb Hall, or the University Police Department.
