Service Changes Due to Public Health Emergency

UTS is operating a modified service level including only Redline Special. These changes are effective until further notice.

    University Transit Service (UTS) is a fare-free transit service provided by the University of Virginia Department of Parking and Transportation. UTS is committed to providing safe, reliable, efficient, and friendly transit service to the University of Virginia students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

    Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM

    • 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM: 15 minute service

    EIL - Early Inner Loop

    The Early Inner Loop runs one loop each morning, beginning at 6:20 AM at the Rugby Road @ Lambeth Lane stop. The Early Inner Loop picks up along Rugby, Grady, Madison, Preston, 14th and drops off at the West Complex.

      • During Full Service, the Inner and Outer Loops provide 10 minute service between Scott Stadium and the Medical Center.
      • During Holiday, Exam, and Commuter Service, the Redline provides 20 minute service.

    • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: 9-10 minute service

     

    Service Calendar

    UTS operates at different service levels throughout the year depending on whether academic courses are in session, health system clinics are open, University holidays, and event impacts.

      Learn more about our service levels.

      Full service: runs during the fall and spring academic semesters unless otherwise posted.

      Holiday service: runs on weekdays during summer sessions, fall reading days, winter break, and spring break. No service for Early Inner Loop, Northline Express, and Purple Route.

      Exam service: runs during the fall and spring exam periods. No service for Northline Express and Purple Route.

      Commuter service: provides Health System Route service during holidays when clinics are still in operation, such as the workdays before Thanksgiving and after Christmas day. Only service for Blueline, Blueline Express, and Redline.

      Football operations: during home football games, all route service is suspended and may not resume until post-game. Throughout the game, UTS operates an accessibility shuttle that runs from the D3 parking lot to Scott Stadium. 

      Each month, we will post a calendar of our service levels online, on our buses, and in our bus shelters. You can also consult the service schedule for UTS operations.

      Lost and Found

      The UTS lost and found is located at 1101 Millmont Street. Any items left on a transit bus will remain there until the end of the day. Please call 434-924-7711 and the dispatcher will help you identify the bus or confirm if your item has been brought in. University Transit Service policy prohibits transit operators from discussing lost items over the handheld radios. Items not in the UTS lost and found may have been brought to the lost and found in Newcomb Hall, or the University Police Department.

      University Transit Service is not responsible for items lost or left on the bus.
