You might have seen the names UVA Transit, UVA Ride, and UVA FlexRide rolling out across Grounds. Parking and Transportation has been working to create understandable and approachable terms to better match the services we provide.
Here’s a summary of the changes:
- DART (Demand and Response Transportation) is now UVA FlexRide
- UTS OnDemand is now UVA Ride
- University Transit Services is now UVA Transit
We are also using UVA Transportation to refer to all services under the Transportation division of Parking and Transportation. That includes UVA Transit, UVA Ride, UVA FlexRide, and UVA Micromobility (bikes and scooters).
University Transit Service (UTS) has been around since 1972, so we know it will be hard to stop using it.
