Men's Basketball Parking and Transportation Impacts

Transportation

Due to the increase in traffic, around the John Paul Jones Arena, on the nights of home men's basketball games, UTS will re-route from Alderman and Copeley Road to Emmet Street during the peak traffic hours pre- and post-game.

UVA Permit Holders

On the days of home men’s basketball games, special restrictions are in place in the lots surrounding the John Paul Jones Arena and University Hall. Signs at the entrances of lots and garages will designate when the lot must be vacated.  All vehicles must vacate the restricted area by the time posted on the day of the game. Any vehicle remaining in the restricted lots after the time noted above will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.

Blue/Commuter Lots

Permit holders who are able to vacate the affected lots by the posted time should use the Uhall/JPJ lots as normal. Permit holders who are unsure if they can vacate by the posted time should park for that day in the Emmet/Ivy parking garage.

Culbreth Road Garage

Permit holders must present a valid S2/A9 permit to gain entry to those lots, beginning three hours pre-tip. Permit holders who are unable to display a valid permit will be denied entry.

Fan Parking

Reserved parking for eligible VAF members is available in the lots surrounding the John Paul Jones Arena based on VAF assignments. Please visit the VAF Website and the events page, for more information.
